Ocean Technology

At Grieg Kapital, we believe technology can change the world to the better. Our expertise and knowledge of the ocean have led us to focus on investing in “ocean related tech” that can make a significant impact.

Our investments today

We have a competitive edge in developing companies that leverage our collective knowledge across different business areas within the Grieg Group. But we don’t stop there. We are always on the lookout for scalable technology, especially in the B2B software-as-a-service space. If it’s data-driven and has the potential to create a healthier ocean or positively impact the Group’s core activities, we are highly interested. Our latest investments showcase our commitment to investing in cutting-edge technology. One investment boasts a unique software and data-enabling hardware component, while the other has the potential to be a game-changing SaaS product. With Grieg Kapital, you can be confident that your innovative technology will have the support it needs to thrive and make a difference.

A technological gadget called Pingme which prevent the loss of fishing gear developed by OSAC.

Ocean Space Acoustics – Digitalization of fishing

OSAC have developed PingMe, a technical solution which will prevent the loss of fishing gear placed in the sea, as well as make fishing more efficient. PingMe can detect, identify and locate equipment and place it in chart plotters. The equipment will prevent ghost fishing, give the fisherman information about where the equipment is whilst fishing, and improve economic performance by facilitating quick recovery of lost gear. The equipment also provides data of the environment of the fishing gear, enabling optimized fishing through aggregated insight.
